f.y.i. corsets will poke you in the armpits and bend awkwardly when you sit so that you look horribly pregnant.

LET IT SNOW!!

i made it snow on my blog because lord knows it’ll never snow down here in florida! so my internet has been not working lately, which has made blogging somewhat of an inconveniece, but i’m trying, i promise!

i ran out of clothes recently. i’ve been so busy lately that i haven’t done laundry in forever. i’ve been scraping at the bottom of my closet. the only reason i’ve brought myself to do laundry today is becuase i ran out of jeans, and it the temperature has finally decided to hover around 55-60. it’s not fun, don’t let it happen. though it does provide for some creativity. a result of my clothes starved dressing:

i’m really excited for christmas, i’m hoping for some really great pieces that will go with everything. either that or some AWESOME shoes. as for right now, i’m going to go do laundry. though don’t hold your breath on the whole folding part. as long as it’s clean…

calling fashion aficionados one and all!

tonight was the victoria’s secret fashion show and oh my was it AMAZING! it’s always such a display and fluff and glamour and glitz and sparkle, but i guess since i’ve been so caught up in fashion in a whole new way these days, it really hit home. it certainly makes me want to be an angel. I’d have to work out waaay more than i do now, but i certainly wouldn’t discount the idea as impossible. one day, i WILL wear a giant snowflake on my butt!!

so anyway…this is what i wore today… i was feeling artsy and fashionable…

i got these shoes in NYC. i love them. they’re so comfy. =]

currently listening: christmas music!!! i’m so excited for the holidays and all these amazing winter clothes!! if only it wasn’t eighty degrees here…. ugh! but alas, i shall persevere in good faith. with my fingers crossed =] twenty days until christmas and if the weather hasn’t cooled by then then i’m hitchhiking out of this godforsaken state!

i hate those days when i just feel fat. and there’s nothing i can do about it. i could not eat a bite all day and look into a mirror and still feel fat! it’s horrible!! today was one of those days. so here are some pics i took goofing off the other night! (because my outfit today was rather loose and comfy)

these are such colorful pictures. my bookshelf is to my room as times square is to new york city. this dress went to my knees before, but to me that didn’t seem LITTLE black dress-ish enough so i hemmed it. i went a leeeettle too far and now it’s more little slutty dress than little black dress, but we’ll see. i think with tights and flats it won’t be so bad. plus, i can always wear it clubbing or something. it’ll just kinda chill in the back of my closet from now on =]

until tomorrow, darlings. maybe then i’ll feel motivated to look cute. (although in my defense i did not look gross today! i did my hair and makeup! i just wore loose clothes and looked fat =/)

i’m gonna go do some sit-ups or something.

so in the spirit of blogging more….

this i what i wore on wednesday to work because we got to dress up for thnxgvng

this last photo is my favorite cause it looks like i’m floating!!!! haha really mature, i know. this blog has really taught me some cool photoshop tricks though…. anyway, i love this outfit because the shoes keep it young and fun and yet it’s reserved and appropriate for something like work or a semi formal occasion or whatever. these shoes have also earned my respect because they are super comfortable. i stood in them for a total of three hours and fifteen minutes (the first two hours were nonstop standing) and my feet felt fine once i took them off. though i did have to take them off for about half of my shift….but whatever!! they helped me build up some feet endurance.

and this is what i’m wearing today because i’m being lazy and it’s chilly inside my house. this sweater is a calvin klein men’s sweater that i got in the middle of june for five dollars. the original price was somewhere in the three digit range. it makes me feel very accomplished. =]

this is why i won’t have a career in blogging. I’m way too sporadic. my goal is to blog regularly until christmas. that’s only four weeks. one month. one eensy weensy little month. keep your fingers crossed guys.

so i went to NYC. it was a wonderful trip. i took no pictures while i was there. but i still have pictures of the clothes that i packed because when i pack i have to try everything on first =]

this trench was my best friend…it rained quite a bit while i was there …which just made the cold feel colder, and me, being from sunny florida, was freezing the entire time.

i actually ended up not packing this outfit which was quite depressing but that just means that i’ll have to bring it next trip =]

happy late thanksgiving everybody. i hope you guys ate just enough to support american obesity but little enough to retain those waistlines because christmas is coming and cute clothes are on the way. =]

i haven’t blogged in so long that wordpress didn’t automatically log me in. wordpress forgot me!!! i need to step this up…

so today was a tired day…running on three hours of sleep =] i didn’t feel like doing my makeup, and i wanted to be comfy so, here’s me!

black jeans (billabong) black tank, green mossimo track jacket and nine west sandals. they were the exact same green, and i did that only halfway intentionally =] but i was comfy and cozy, which is a good thing.

this weekend i dragged my mom to my favorite consignment shop in town, and she loved it, of course. and, like always when she goes shopping with me, she picked up the tab. so!! i got a few cute things =]

a leopard print tunic in which i can totally have a comfy day without feeling super gross like i do in sweats. (the jeans and shoes are mine…aren’t these shoes cute?!? they’re from charlotte russe and go with e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g)

a comfy retro teal sweater for the upcoming fall days.

yet another print top…but this one is for summer evenings. dinner…club…come what may. it makes my shoulders look less massive =] although i need t stop buying animal print because if i don’t, it will go out of fashion simply because it will all be in my closet, and nobody else will be able to have it! =/

and lastly….

the point of shopping was to try to find some cute stuff to wear in nyc, but we got a little distracted and i know that i failed epically. i think my mom did about the same =] but we still got some really cute stuff for a super great price.

my next blog will most likely be about what i plan to wear in the big apple, so brace yourselves. and i promise promise promise that one day i will post the pieces that i have included in my parsons portfolio because those need to be shown off =]

I’m getting better at taking photos…this could be a useful skill in the future =] Today, i felt super inner city/alphabet city cutsey grunge. Punk rock….again. I ended up taking too many pictures that i just haaaad to put up here, so i’m gonna write less words….enjoy!!

a lazy day: american apparel t-shirt dress, target sweater, and comfy comfy mudd gladiator sandals. the bracelets were scavenged out of a local farmer’s market, and i had to buy them both because they were just too cute to pass up. it was cold this morning, but i knew it would warm up, and so i didn’t other getting too bundled up. this was just enough to keep me warm and still feel cute. and this morning, i totally thought of what i said yesterday about not giving myself the short straw on an outfit. i wore this dress before it got too cold to do so, and i am sure glad i did =]

anyway, yoga time! i haven’t practiced in forever so this should be interesting. boots tomorrow because i have to wear them for a scene in theatre class anyway. i’m psyched!!

i wore a scarf today. well, a scarf along with some other clothes….but, the highlight of my outfit was definitely the scarf. it’s my chocolate brown perry ellis rabbit fur scarf [which needs to be retired after this winter...it's totally falling apart]. looking back, i have decided that i should not have worn this scarf. here was what i wore:

don’t get me wrong i do like this outfit. it’s just that there are definitely ways to improve. working with the base of the jeans (ripped up rock ‘n roll punk again…you know me…) i decided that instead of trying to stick with the overall casual like i did (hence the converse and..the scarf!) i thought it would be cool to contrast the youth of the jeans with a more classic top and shoes. here is my result:

i maintained the color contrast of the teal and the brown, but i made the overall effect much more high class. the jacket i somewhat severe, so i rolled the sleeves i order to relax it a bit. the shoes are a mary jane-esque pump that complements the brown in the jacket. it was totally warm enough today to have worn open toed shoes, i was just feeling lazy at five thirty this morning and didn’t want to put on heels. i felt a little sloppy all day, and so i’m definitely taking that as a sign that from now on if i have heels that match, i’m wearing them! i hope it stays cold enough for me to rock my new boots some day this week. we shall see.

on a completely different note, i am consigning a lot of my clothes in the hopes of lifting my closet out of middle/high school and into college. i went through last night and tried on 2375627354287 things so that i could decide what fits/doesn’t fit and what was worth keeping. i decided to do this when i ran out of clothes hangers and had to leave things draped across chairs, and i just now finally got around to doing so. here’s my mountain:

as you can see, the pile is largely pink…which i feel is highly indicative of both the fashion trends right now and the evolution that each woman makes when her wardrobe matures. many of these clothes are very nineties. a lot of them just don’t fit well. most of them are becoming consignment shop fodder. there are a few pieces in there that i am having trouble letting go of, and i can pretty much guarantee that they will end up back in my closet. also, i think i am going to give some of these pieces to my mom, because they’re more her style anyway. it depends on what she wants but i know that i will be taking whatever cash these pieces give me and refreshing my closet for my trip next month. it feels good to clean out all of the old clothes that you haven’t even worn for months. you should try it sometime.
